Lighting

Have you installed replacement lighting?.

Compact Florescent Lighting (CFL) have been in circulation for several years, and can more than half your energy use.

More recently LED lights have been introduced to replace 50w recessed spot lights and now old style T12/T8 and T5 can be replaced by LED tubes.

Heating and cooling

Do you have an older boiler? It may not be necessary to change it for a new one!

Old boilers may not be as efficient as new condensing systems, but if you can not justify investing in a replacement heating system because of lease length and payback then look at controls. It may be possible to turn down Air conditioning refrigeration equipment, or even turn it off over night.

Water

Many business’ simply have toilets and wash hand basins....

There are a number of simple retro fit systems to reduce tap flows, urinal flush and dual/reduced flow toilet flush equipment available. Most are not expensive and are easy to fit.

Renewables

We are all aware that the government have committed us to producing 15% of our energy from renewable sources by 2020.

There are a range of incentives provided to help business, and individuals, to install systems to generate electrical energy and heat from renewable sources.

Typical paybacks are around 8 to 10 years and obviously will require work to be carried out on the outside the property and to the distribution boards or heating system.
